All our designs are created by textile designer, Nagma Giri (MSc, BA(Hons)). Her design inspiration comes from her love colours engraved in her from her cultural background growing up in Nepal and her design skills using tactile materials developed in England from arts and crafts at college to earning a degree in Woven Textile Design.
The process...
To summarize, the process of making a felt product starts from sourcing pure wool felt, planning the colours and dying the felt sheets using natural dyes and cutting them into various shapes using drawing templates. The design is then cut, stuffed with natural fibers and sewn to create a 3D finished piece. The techniques used are using sheets of felt created to cute and sew along with needle felting techniques to add details and finishing touches to the final product.
